Shad fishing is one of the best fisheries we have in my opinion. It can be fast and fun, they pull greatd, it’s not extremely technical and the table fare dialog will always be open ended.
Anyhow, the river has been all but suitable for the past month to target Shad but things are now in the best window we’ll have this year. Already seeing a lot of bucks on the Tar.
Let it be said, some of our best Shad fishing can be in Feb.! Yes the upper reaches or true spawning grounds will see fish in March but a ton of fish get caught long before.
