Pamlico River Stripers, Capt. Mitchell Blake

IMG_0053Hit the Pamlico River for some Striper action, first stop maybe 12-15 strikes 2 fish.  Second stop 2 fish and a couple strikes.  Third stop didn’t see what I was hunting and conditions were changing.  Fourth stop on fish, couple strikes but fish were small on screen so I decided to jump locations.  Next stop looking at some pigs, bam!  21″ over the rail, couple short strikes another fish in the net.  Check one more place in a time crunch got to roll back to the pigs.  Strike, strike, strike….

So why do Hybrid Striped Bass count against your limit, are they not a separate species?  I don’t think they are too difficult to id.
